Team Updates for the week of May 25th
Hello, Orca team members and Families! We are excited to get the 2026 season started! Starting June 1st all of our communication will be through Swimtopia and our private Orchard Hill Swim Team Facebook page.
Your team fees make your athlete(s) a part of both the swim and dive teams. You do not need to know how to dive to be on the dive team. They start with a forward “pencil” jump and build from there as your child is ready. Our swim and dive age level practices are set up opposite of each other, so they can participate in both and you get the most bang for your buck. Even if your child doesn’t feel ready to participate in a meet, we encourage all of our swimmers to give diving a try. Assistant Coach Alllie Dangel will be coaching the morning practices and Coach Jason will be coaching during the evenings.
Our Orca team members range from recreational summer swimmers and divers to those who compete year round. While we want to win races, events, and meets, we want anyone who wants to participate to be treated with kindness and respect. Our goal is to foster a safe and fun environment for our athletes.
Our swim and dive team is run by volunteers. We strive to keep you up to date with clear concise communication. If at any point you have any questions or fun new ideas you would like to help with during the season, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
On Thursday, May 28th we will have an optional 20 minute new parent meeting at 6:00 to answer any questions you have about the upcoming season.

Weather
We will always err on the side of having practice if it is safe to do so. We will update any changes or cancellations using Swimtopia.
In the past if there was cold or rainy weather, coaches would have dry land practice on the patio followed by a shorter time in the pool as long as it was safe.
Practices are not mandatory! While we encourage you to be there, we recognize that you have to do what is best for your family.
FREE Swim Official and Dive Judge Clinics
ANYONE can be an official or dive judge. Stroke judge, turn judge, and dive team judge are positions you will be able to volunteer for to meet your volunteer requirements during our season. These are basic training sessions. No prior knowledge is required.
- Swimming official training is June 2 at 6 pm at Madeira Swim Club. There is online training available as well and you can find the link to that on the league website : Home - Private Pool Swim League(PPSL) -- Cincinnati Ohio
- Diving is May 28 at 5:30 at Turpin Hills or June 1 at 7 at Madeira Swim Club.
